(PRESS RELEASE) EBIKON, 13-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Schindler Olayan has secured a contract to supply 293 elevators, escalators, and moving walks for The Avenues – Riyadh, a massive new multi-purpose development in the Saudi Arabian capital. Once completed, this project will span over 1.8 million square meters, featuring the largest commercial mall in the Middle East, which alone will cover 388,000 square meters. The development will also include five multipurpose towers housing hotels, residential apartments, and office spaces.

The Avenues – Riyadh, developed by Shomoul Holding, combines traditional Salmani architecture with contemporary design elements and has already earned LEED certification from the American Green Building Council for its energy-efficient and environmentally friendly design.

Schindler Olayan will deliver 134 Schindler 5500 elevators, including 45 passenger elevators and 89 service elevators, along with one Schindler 2600 elevator, 150 Schindler 9300 escalators, and eight Schindler 9500 moving walks. These units will be equipped with cloud connectivity, enabling 24/7 monitoring through Schindler ActionBoard. This technology will provide real-time insights into the performance and operation of the elevators and escalators, facilitating efficient maintenance, data management, and operational planning.
