SCC secures two-year NEPA Framework Agreement with two potential two-year extensions to 2020

SCC has secured a place on the National Education Printer Framework Agreement (NEPA) for Printing Services to Universities, Higher and Further Education institutions.

Birmingham, UK, 23-Aug-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — The milestone award – SCC’s first for the provision of managed print and production print services – caps a successful period of growth for the business in this area, having established dedicated Public Sector and Production Print Services divisions in 2015 under M2 – its wholly owned and independent managed print services business.

The two-year NEPA Framework Agreement, with two potential two-year extensions to take the agreement to 2020, enables Higher & Further Education institutions across the UK to partner with SCC and key suppliers Canon and HP to transform the working and learning environment of both staff and students.

According to NEUPC, the new framework has been designed with input from the University Print Managers Association as well as experts from both members and consortia to ensure that it fulfils members print requirements under one agreement and their strategic planning needs.

The expanded agreement encompasses a range of print services in response to the distinct needs of user groups in Higher Education and the commitment of UK universities to deliver efficiencies and value for money for students, government and the wider public.

SCC has been successful on lots 1-4, which clearly define a managed service approach over the more traditional transactional print or copy supply model, spanning managed print solution, production print services, one-stop shop services and the supply of non-managed print equipment.

Since the 2011 Diamond Review and the response of Procurement UK, universities are on track to achieve a reduction target of 30% through collaborative procurement in 2016.

NEPA is managed by North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) and available to regional member institutions of the UK University Purchasing Consortia: North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC), London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC), Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC), Advanced Procurement for Universities & Colleges (APUC), Higher Education Purchasing Consortium, Wales (HEPW), North East & Yorkshire Academic Libraries Purchasing Consortium (NEYAL).

Colleges and other public funded bodies such as NHS London Procurement Programme and The Energy Consortium can also access NEPA as associate or affiliated members of the UK University Purchasing Consortia.

One recent solution provides an on-site engineer, cashless card authentication with secure print release to give 12,000 staff and students peace of mind that they can print anywhere on campus. The focus of the project was service enhancement and M2’s contract flexibility enabled the service take-on of 100 MFDs to result in a highly reliable and accessible solution.

Notable success in the education and wider public sector include Oxford University, University of Northampton, Henley College of Further Education, Devon County Council, Ministry of Justice, House of Commons, Home Office (TBC), Telford & Wrekin Council, Avon & Somerset Constabulary and Essex Police.
