(PRESS RELEASE) SÖDERTÄLJE, 7-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Scania is ramping-up in Södertälje for the world finals of the 2023 edition of Top Team – the world-wide competition celebrating workshop excellence and customer care. Twelve finalist teams will try to reach the Super Finals in Södertälje on 21 April, and win the big price of 50,000 EUR.

Once again, we will see a nerve-wrecking Top Team Super Final in Södertälje, and online. The pandemic put a lot on hold, but finally everything is set in motion again. “Everybody was eager to continue the competition, so things have been extra smooth once we were up and running again,” says Håkan Sjögren, Top Team Senior Project Manager.

“This round we had the pleasure to welcome some new competitive teams to the Top Team international editions – like Colombia, Ghana and Tanzania. A team may have advantage from previous experience of Top Team, since the structure of the competition is quite similar. But nothing is certain, they are all very good! In the end, nerves and time pressure also touches the best teams, says Håkan.

Only the best…

From the start in 2020, about 8,000 participants from 70 markets have done the 100 points theory test. The best national teams compete in the national finals, to qualify for the regional finals. From each of the six regions, the two best teams will meet in Södertälje for the Top Team World Finals. It starts on Thursday 20 April with six teams competing in the morning and the other six in the afternoon. The four best teams will then meet on Friday 21 April in the Super Finals, which will be livestreamed on Facebook and Youtube (links below).

The great Scania networks

For Åsa Dellham, Project Manager at Scania Academy, this is her first Top Team tour and she is happy and impressed: “We work cross-functionally and get a lot of support from our colleagues at the Scania facilities hosting our regional finals. That gives us all a great networking experience also on the arranging side. But most of all, meeting all these skilled service technicians from all over the world is most rewarding. Listening to their stories about what Scania means to them is really an amazing thing,” says Åsa.
