SAS Malaysia honored with Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award 2013

SAS one of 21 companies in Malaysia – out of 145 nominations – to receive the award.

CARY, NC, 19-8-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — SAS was one of 21 companies from Malaysia to win a Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award 2013. The competition was organized by HR Asia, the region’s largest circulation publication for senior HR professionals, reaching 54,000 readers each quarter across all major Asian economies.

“This is a historic milestone for SAS Malaysia,” said Andrew Tan, Managing Director of SAS Malaysia. “I am proud to receive this award on behalf of all SAS employees in Malaysia.  It is their hard work, passion for the company and spirit of partnership and teamwork that makes this possible.”

Based on a proprietary survey developed by HR Asia, the award encompasses employees’ feedback and input along with management comments and presentation. In total, 4,000 Malaysian employees were surveyed to determine their intention and motivation, emotional engagement and advocacy of their respective employers.

“This is one of the most scientific and extensive surveys on employee engagement and workplace practices in this region. Since embarking on the project last year, HR Asia has discovered that many of these companies – both local and international – have workplace practices that are on par with the best in the world,” said Caroline Ang, General Manager of Business Media International, the publisher of HR Asia.

“Most of the employees in the winning companies enjoy job satisfaction in what they do.” Ang added.  “They believe that they are providing value to their companies and are appreciated for their contributions. An important factor is that these employees have fostered a sense of ownership within the companies that they work for.”

The Awards cover 12 markets across Asia, with Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong being the first three respectively to announce results.
