Samaritans’ Press team won PR award for their work with the media on reporting of Robin Williams suicide

SURREY, 23-10-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Samaritans’ Press team has won a national public relations award for their work with the media on the reporting of the suicide of Robin Williams last year. The team was highly commended in the Issues and Crisis Management category of the PR Week Awards, which were held at the Grosvenor House in London’s Park Lane yesterday evening.

The Press team worked with local, regional and national media, giving advice and guidance to encourage them to report Robin Williams’ death responsibly, to minimise the risk of copycat suicides taking place after his death received global publicity. Lorna Fraser and Sue Royal from the Press team attended the ceremony.
