MILAN, 12-Jun-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — «Hiring young talents is a strategic priority for us, not a tactical one, to be correctly pursued in the long-term, and not merely managed as something transitional when needed» said Salini Impregilo CEO Pietro Salini at today’s launch event of the new Master’s in International Construction Management course organized in partnership with the Politecnico di Milano.

«Collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano represents the beginning of a new era for Salini Impregilo. We firmly believe that to attract young talents from the best universities in the world is a lever that must be used if we wish to continue growing».

The Master’s, at its second edition, guarantees highly qualified training to students from all over the world, through a training path totally offered in English, which after an initial classroom phase offers practical on the job experience.

Salini Impregilo, a global player in the large infrastructure sector, believes that the quality of this training path represents the most effective weapon against the risk of unemployment. In 2016 in Italy only, the construction sector lost 4.9% of its workforce, 30% if we consider the time frame between 2008 and 2016. Substantial cuts that increase at a European level: in the same period, in the construction sector of Eurozone, 2.9 million jobs were lost.

This explains the need to train specialized personnel capable of meeting the needs arising from large companies like Salini Impregilo, which employs more than 35,000 people of 100 different nationalities, of which 1,900 in Italy.

The Master’s is aimed at new graduates in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental and Territorial Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, Structural Engineering and Architecture, Structural Engineering, Management Engineering and similar scientific topics.

At the end of the Master, a possible integration into the Group will be evaluated for all those students that complete the training course with excellent results.

«Attracting young talents is fundamental for us to build a long-term vision. The young people who begin to work in our company not only must be assigned to a project, but must also have the capacity to grow with our Group, covering different roles during their career».
