SAKU BREWERY RECEIVED THE RESPONSIBLE COMPANY QUALITY LABEL

On 4 December, Saku Brewery was awarded the Estonian „Responsible Company 2012“ quality label.

Prior to receiving the label, a thorough questionnaire was completed about the contribution to the working environment, natural environment, community and market environment. „Having been awarded the CSR-label is a distinguished recognition for our company and a sign that we have taken the right steps to advance both the working environment and other areas. For Saku, this was the first time to participate in the questionnaire, comparable to an audit of these four areas. Measuring ourselves against other leading Estonian companies and the experts’ assessment of our activities is a valuable input for us in setting goals for the future,“ Kristiina Tamberg, Communications Manager of Saku Brewery commented.

The label is awarded by the Responsible Business Forum in Estonia in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, Estonian Business School and business daily Äripäev. This year, 34 companies received the quality label. The label comprises three levels: gold (over 90% of the maximum score of 100), silver (80%) and bronze (70%). Saku’s result was on the bronze level.

The purpose of the corporate responsibility index is to help companies analyse how to act responsibly with respect to social and natural environment, and through this develop a sustainable business model and experience greater economic success.
