Saint-Gobain to sell its Optimera construction materials distribution business in Denmark to Davidsens Tommerhandel
(PRESS RELEASE) LA DEFENSE, 20-Jun-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — Saint-Gobain to sell its Optimera construction materials distribution business in Denmark to Davidsens Tommerhandel. The agreement is in line with Saint-Gobain’s portfolio optimization strategy aimed at divesting businesses representing sales of more than €3.0 billion by end-2019. The transaction should be effective during the second half of 2019.
Optimera Denmark’s sales in 2018 amounted to around €120 million. It has 17 outlets as well as construction materials warehouses and logistics centers.
Saint-Gobain retains a strong presence in Denmark’s distribution market through its brand, Brødrene Dahl.
Saint-Gobain designs, manufactures and distributes a variety of construction and high-performance materials. The company earned €41.8 billion in sales in 2018. It operates in 67 countries and has more than 180,000 employees.
