Safran earned “Responsible Supplier Relations” label from the attribution committee of Médiation Inter-Entreprises

Paris, 04-6-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — The attribution committee of Médiation Inter-Entreprises, the business mediation unit of the French industry ministry, today issued its “Responsible Supplier Relations” label to Safran, concerning aircraft engine production purchasing by Group company Snecma. The award of this certificate was witnessed by Jean-Paul Louis, Safran Vice President, Production.

The “Responsible Supplier Relations” label recognizes French companies that have demonstrated sustainable, balanced relations with their suppliers. It is the first government-certified label in this field, and is awarded for a period of three years. The label also reflects a sustained commitment to responsible purchasing, as defined by the inter-company relations charter and is based on an audit by VIGEO, an accreditation firm specialized in corporate social responsibility.

In addition to Safran’s signature of the responsible supplier relations charter in 2010, this label recognizes the concrete application of best practices recommended by the charter, and consolidates Safran’s commitment to continuous improvement in purchasing.

According to Safran’s production chief, Jean-Paul Louis, “The award of this label today clearly shows that Safran applies a purchasing policy in line with our objective of achieving excellence in this area. It also clearly matches our industrial strategy and our CSR policy. Our purchasing policy is designed to focus our business on suppliers that meet our requirements, and which are ready to make a long-term commitment to a balanced, mutually beneficial relationship.”
