Safran and IndustriAll Europe Partner to Enhance Work-Life Balance for Employees with Groundbreaking Agreement

(IN BRIEF) Safran and IndustriAll Europe have signed a pioneering European framework agreement aimed at improving work-life balance for employees, with a focus on family-related issues such as parental support, workplace flexibility, caregiver assistance, and awareness programs. This initiative reflects Safran’s commitment to supporting employee wellbeing and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 17-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Safran and IndustriAll Europe have forged a historic European framework agreement aimed at addressing family-related work-life balance, highlighting the importance of innovative HR policies in response to evolving societal needs. This landmark agreement further underscores Safran’s commitment to corporate human and social responsibility, emphasizing a forward-thinking approach to supporting its employees.

With a keen awareness of the cultural and regulatory differences across regions, the multinational framework sets out shared principles that will apply to Safran’s 60,000 employees across the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, and the United Kingdom. The agreement focuses on identifying common challenges and transforming them into actionable measures designed to help employees better balance their professional and family responsibilities.

The agreement is built on a shared commitment to adapting to societal changes and meeting new employee expectations.

Key elements of the agreement include:

Parental Support: Comprehensive support for employees throughout the entire family-building process, covering areas such as adoption and fertility treatment. This could involve flexible working arrangements or adjustments to job roles to accommodate the needs of parents before, during, and after the arrival of a child.

Workplace Flexibility: A commitment to offering employees the flexibility to adjust their working hours, take advantage of remote work opportunities, and explore other measures that support a healthy balance between work and family life.

Caregiver Support: Specialized support for employees who are caregivers, including training opportunities, additional days off, and the ability to tailor work hours and arrangements to suit caregiving responsibilities.

Awareness Programs: Initiatives to foster a more inclusive and supportive work environment for parents and caregivers, while promoting respect for the diversity of family dynamics across the workforce.

“This agreement represents a crucial milestone for Safran as it reinforces our standing as a leading employer dedicated to prioritizing employee wellbeing and supporting work-life balance,” said Stéphane Dubois, Executive Vice President for Corporate Human and Social Responsibility at Safran.

Isabelle Barthès, Deputy General Secretary of IndustriAll Europe, emphasized the significance of the agreement: “The framework establishes a unified approach to work-life balance, parental support, and financial compensation. This is a major step forward for Safran employees across Europe. Moving forward, the focus will be on local-level collective bargaining to ensure effective implementation.”
