This agreement, extending from 2024 to 2029, fulfills an option from a previous contract and underscores Saab’s commitment to enhancing Sweden’s defence capabilities with advanced multi-domain surveillance and early threat detection capabilities provided by the GlobalEye system.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 28-Jun-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Saab has announced a significant contract signing with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the delivery of a third GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft to Sweden. Valued at approximately SEK 2.6 billion, this contract spans from 2024 to 2029 and fulfills an option originally included in Saab’s agreement with FMV from June 2022, which also covered two initial GlobalEye aircraft with provisions for additional units. Known locally as the S 106, the GlobalEye platform enhances Sweden’s defence capabilities by offering comprehensive situational awareness and early warning capabilities across air, sea, and land domains.
