Richard Bennison appointed Non-Executive Director R J Kiln & Co Limited and Kiln Group

London, 31-5-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Kiln, the forward thinking specialist insurance and reinsurance business which is part of the Tokio Marine group, today announced that it has appointed Richard Bennison as a Non-Executive Director to the R J Kiln & Co Limited and Kiln Group Limited Boards. Bennison, a chartered accountant, will chair the R J Kiln & Co Limited Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

A financial services specialist, Bennison’s roles have seen him run a number of high profile relationships with insurance clients. He has spent his career spanning 35 years with KPMG where he most recently held the posts of Chief Operating Officer of KPMG Europe LLP and CEO of KPMG in the UK. As COO and CEO, he held full responsibility for the UK firm’s operating performance and for driving the integration of the European arm comprising 35,000 people in 15 countries. Prior to that, he was KPMG’s UK Head of Audit, Head of the Financial Services Advisory Group and Head of Financial Services Audit in the UK.

The appointment follows the departure of Paul Wilson who has stepped down from the Board after seven years following his appointment as Chairman of XL London Market Ltd.

Charles Franks, Chief Executive of Kiln Group, said: “I am delighted to welcome Richard to the Board at this interesting time. We have made enormous progress in developing the business successfully with support from our parent, Tokio Marine over the past few years. This has enabled us to deliver, thanks in part to our focus on introducing new specialist product lines, enhancing our distribution networks and expanding our international operations.

“The next phase of that strategy will prove vital to our long-term success as we work to prepare the business for the changes that are taking place in the industry and drive forward our ambitions. Richard’s impressive credentials, strong reputation and expertise in the financial services sector, and insurance in particular, will be an enormous benefit to both the executive team and to Kiln as a whole.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul Wilson for his time at Kiln. Over the past seven years, Paul has both supported and challenged the management team in his position as a Non-Executive Director. During that time, Kiln has made great strides in our development and Paul has made a significant contribution to our achievements. I would like to wish him every success for the future.”
