(PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 15-Apr-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — MS Motorservice International GmbH, subsidiary of Technology Company Rheinmetall, will build a new and highly modern high-bay storage at its plant in Neuenstadt for the automated storage of Euro-pallets. Equipped with an automated conveyor technology, this is connected to shipment, incoming goods and to an existing narrow-aisles warehouse as well as to a pick-and-test station. In a later phase of the project, the existing narrow-aisles warehouse shall also be modernized.

The investment serves as storage location for shipping. Through this, especially the material flow is to be optimized. The four-aisle high-bay storage area shall be operated in three shifts and it is envisaged to store 300 to 400 pallets per day in the high-bay storage. Concerning the connection to the incoming goods and the shipment, it is foreseen to install an extensive conveying system and six remotely controlled transportation systems (FTS). The transportation of the pallets between the high-bay storage and the existing building will be done over a bridge in the direction of the new building.

The complete material flow will be controlled via the modular based warehouse management system Kardex Control Center. Prior before incoming goods entering the high-bay storage, all pallets will be clearly labelled with an identification number. Subsequently, the further-on warehouse management can be planned and centrally organized. The operational phase is foreseen to start in the first quarter of 2025. The project is mutually conducted by Kardex MLog and project partner Safelog.
