RenewableUK’s Hugh McNeal on MHI Vestas Offshore Wind’s new facility at Fawley: powerful symbol of UK’s transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy

LONDON, 13-Nov-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — RenewableUK is highlighting today’s announcement by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind that it is opening a new plant at Fawley in Hampshire – on the site of a decommissioned oil-fired power station.

The company is already manufacturing state-of-the-art 80-metre offshore wind turbine blades at its factory on the Isle of Wight. The blades will be painted and stored at the new facility which will open in April 2018, creating up to 50 jobs, bringing MHI Vestas UK workforce total to 600.
