Proximus combines its Luxembourg entities Telindus and Tango to create Proximus Luxembourg, a new convergent organization with strong growth ambitions

Luxembourg, 17-May-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — The Proximus subsidiaries Telindus and Tango command strong positions in the Luxembourg ICT and telecommunication services market for businesses and in the mobile, fixed telephony, TV and Internet services market for consumers respectively; they announce today to continue to further complement each other by accelerating their organisational convergence.

Driven by a strong commitment to Luxembourg and following the acquisition of the full ownership of Telindus in December of 2015, Proximus has now defined an ambitious growth avenue for Telindus and Tango. Tango and Telindus will pursue a coordinated convergence strategy based on innovation and with a challenger mindset.

The new organization that results from Tango and Telindus joining forces will be called Proximus Luxembourg.  It is put under the leadership of Gérard Hoffmann, CEO, and Jean-François Willame, Co-CEO and Integration Officer and will be structured around three entities:

  •  The Proximus Luxembourg HQ entity will regroup the mobile and fixed networks and all the services and competence centres supporting the commercial activities; all investments will be centrally steered and monitored.
  • The Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) will address large and medium sized companies and will act on the B2B market under the Telindus brand. Telindus and Tango will join forces in their businesses of telecom operator and IT provider.  In that context, they intend to further grow their mobile, fixed connectivity, cloud, security, outsourcing, and Fintech businesses. EBU will be headed by Gérard Hoffmann
  • The Consumer Business Unit (CBU) that will address consumers and small businesses (up to 10 employees) and will act on the B2C market under the Tango brand. Tango will continue its successful growth strategy in mobile, fixed Internet and TV services. CBU will be headed by Jean-François Willame.

The legal entities will be maintained in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements but will largely operate in tandem under the combined leadership.

The new Proximus Luxembourg organization, that becomes a strong player on all the markets it operates in, will be progressively set up during the coming months and aims to be fully operational in September of this year.  The newly structured offering for B2B customers based on the ambitious investment plan will hit the market as of Q4 of this year. Further announcements to present the newly available services shall follow in due time.

We are enthusiastic about the combination of both companies, which creates a unique business growth opportunity and will put Proximus Luxembourg into the position of a strong challenging leader on both Telecom and ICT markets. This strategic combination with Tango is compelling and will provide significant benefits to our enterprise customers.” said Gérard Hoffmann, Chairman and Managing Director of Telindus Luxembourg and CEO of Proximus Luxembourg.

Tango is confident about the benefits that we will reach by joining forces with our sister company Telindus Luxembourg.  We are eager to bring to our customers, especially on the B2B market, the expected benefits from the new enhanced organization. Our B2B customers will benefit from greater resources and more diverse product offerings, including ICT solutions” said Jean-François Willame, Managing Director of Tango and co-CEO of Proximus Luxembourg.
