Prof. Dr. Dominik Ruettinger to lead Research and Early Development for Oncology at Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division

(PRESS RELEASE) BERLIN, 26-Jul-2021 — /EuropaWire/ — Bayer, a global enterprise with core competencies in the life science fields of health care and nutrition, has announced that Prof. Dr. Dominik Ruettinger has been appointed as the new Head of Research and Early Development for Oncology at its Pharmaceuticals Division, effective October 1, 2021.

Dominik Ruettinger joins Bayer from Roche where he most recently headed Early Clinical and Biomarker Development in Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). Before he joined Roche in 2011, Dominik Ruettinger was at Micromet Inc. (now Amgen Inc.) where he led all solid tumor development programs and supported the development of Blinatumumab (Blincyto™), eventually resulting in the approval of this first CD19-directed T-cell bispecific in 2014.

Dominik Ruettinger has spent 12 years in academia (Germany and US), is board certified in Surgical Oncology and holds a PhD degree in tumor immunology from the University of Munich, where he also served as principal investigator on multiple Phase I-III clinical oncology trials.
