PNE Secures Approvals for Wind Farms and Repowering Project in Five German Federal States

(IN BRIEF) PNE Group received permits for five wind energy projects in Germany during the first half of 2026, with a combined nominal capacity of around 188 MW. The approved projects are located across Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. They include new wind farms, an extension project and a repowering project that will reduce turbine numbers while increasing electricity generation. The permits move the projects closer to implementation and support PNE’s strategy to expand its clean energy portfolio while contributing to regional energy supply and Germany’s energy transition.

(PRESS RELEASE) CUXHAVEN, 20-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — PNE Group received permits for five wind energy projects in Germany during the first half of 2026, covering a combined nominal capacity of around 188 megawatts.

The permits were granted under the German Federal Immission Control Act, known as BImSchG, and move the projects into the next stage of development.

The approved projects include the Beerfelde wind farm in Brandenburg, the Ehren wind farm in Lower Saxony, the Balver Wald wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia, the extension of the Gebstedt/Willerstedt wind farm in Thuringia and the Gardelegen repowering project in Saxony-Anhalt.

The largest of the newly permitted projects is Beerfelde in Brandenburg, which comprises 14 wind turbines with a total nominal capacity of around 100 MW.

The Ehren wind farm in Lower Saxony is being developed as a joint project with a regional cooperative bank. The project includes four wind turbines with a combined capacity of around 29 MW. One turbine is allocated to PNE Group, while the other three are allocated to the project partner.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the Balver Wald wind farm comprises three turbines with a total nominal capacity of around 21 MW.

For the Gebstedt/Willerstedt project in Thuringia, PNE has received approval for two additional wind turbines. The project is an extension of the existing Gebstedt wind farm, which PNE is developing jointly with EDF power solutions.

One of the two approved turbines in the extension is allocated to each project partner. The total capacity of the extension is around 14 MW.

PNE has also received approval for the Gardelegen repowering project in Saxony-Anhalt. The project will reduce the number of turbines from six to four, while increasing generation capacity.

The new turbines at Gardelegen will have a total capacity of 24 MW. Despite the lower number of turbines, electricity generation is expected to rise significantly compared with the existing wind farm.

PNE said the five projects will make an important contribution to climate-friendly electricity generation once operational. The projects are also expected to support a secure and sustainable regional energy supply.

Roland Stanze, Chief Operating Officer of PNE AG, said the permits represent an important step in implementing the company’s strategy.
