The Gateway Location Register gives Claro real-time control and information on inbound roaming traffic to increase and protect its inbound market share and lower international signaling expenses. Claro can now monitor, manage, optimize and maintain a high quality of service for its inbound roaming traffic. The net result is increased usage and revenues with lower operational costs.

Claro selected the Optimal Voicemail Deposit™ solution to enable voicemail service while roaming and avoid international tromboning. Tromboning is the additional signaling that occurs when roamers’ unanswered calls are diverted back to their home voicemail service. The solution improves the experience of both subscribers and callers and significantly reduces the cost of voicemail deposits that are currently either billed to the subscriber or absorbed by the operator.
