OTTO Headquarters Transformation Delivers Cutting-Edge Workspaces and Striking Atrium Design

(IN BRIEF) Since April 2024, 1,600 OTTO employees have thrived in a newly transformed headquarters in Hamburg-Bramfeld, which features a striking 38-metre-high atrium designed by akyol kamps. The repurposed former logistics building now spans nine floors and a basement over 47,900 square metres, offering versatile, light-filled spaces that promote both collaboration and focused work. Following the successful OTTO GO 10 project, Lindner SE was tasked with the interior fit-out of the “GOeast” building, managing complex installations such as thermal insulation systems, extensive drywall work, and adaptable glass partition systems. Despite challenges like installing 175,000 linear metres of drywall profiles, the project achieved a modern, industrial aesthetic that emphasizes sustainability through the use of refurbished furniture and a minimalist design.

(PRESS RELEASE) ARNSTORF, 12-Mar-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Since April 2024, approximately 1,600 OTTO employees have benefited from a modern work environment based on the “Activity-Based Working” model at the revamped OTTO headquarters in Hamburg-Bramfeld. The transformation of the former logistics building now spans nine above-ground floors and a basement over roughly 47,900 square metres, featuring a striking 38-metre-high atrium—an architectural highlight conceived by akyol kamps—that floods the space with natural light and offers versatile meeting and event areas alongside open-plan offices.

Building on the success of the OTTO GO 10 project completed in December 2019, Lindner SE was commissioned for the refurbishment of the “GOeast” building. Acting as the general contractor for the interior fit-out, Lindner SE oversaw installations including external thermal insulation composite systems, flooring, drywall, and the Lindner Life Pure 620 glass partition systems, which not only enable flexible room configurations but also enhance the open, airy ambiance. The design incorporates industrial elements such as glass, metal, and exposed concrete columns—some reaching up to 30 metres high—while a predominantly monochrome palette accented with occasional colours reinforces the minimalist style. Sustainability was also a priority, with a significant portion of the furniture being refurbished and only select new pieces added for specialized areas.

Notable challenges were overcome during the project, including the complex drywall installation that involved 175,000 linear metres of profiles and plasterboard covering an area equivalent to 18 football pitches. This feat was achieved through meticulous collaboration and the effective integration of various Lindner systems and products.
