OMV and Vienna Insurance Group launch safety initiative

At the beginning of the winter season the OMV starts together with the Vienna Insurance Group an Austrian wide safety initiative. The two companies therefore jointly offer safety packages from the Austrian Red Cross and traffic accident insurances for car drivers.

8-11-2012 — /europawire.eu/ — Austrian car drivers are currently, shortly after the first onset of winter, preparing their cars for winter. Winter tires are fitted, antifreeze is filled into the windshield wiper systems, MaxxMotion Diesel is refueled for optimum engine performance at low temperatures and ice scrapers are ready set. “But still important details are often forgotten. For example, to prepare a flashlight for breakdowns in the dark winter months or to check the expiration date of the by law required first aid kit”, warns Harald Joichl, Head of OMVs filling station business in Austria and Germany. Therefore OMV starts together with the Vienna Insurance Group the joint campaign “ safe in motion”, so that car drivers overcome the winter better protected.

Points for safety
With the newly launched cooperation between OMV and Vienna Insurance Group customers can col-lect reward points for shopping and refueling at OMV filling stations during the promotion period. The collected points can be traded for an one year free drivers accident insurance or EuropeHELP insur-ance from the Vienna Insurance Group. “The OMV filling stations are an ideal place for us to make car drivers aware of insurances for important issues like accidents and healthcare. With the in the first year free insurances car drivers are financially and medically optimally protected in case of an acci-dent”, says Dr. Ralph Müller, Executive Director of the Vienna Insurance Group. The reward points can also be traded for reduced safety packages of the Austrian Red Cross: from the breakdown set with safety vest and warning triangle, over the certified first aid kit to the flashlight for the dark season.

“Sicherheitsgurtschein”
From November 5, 2012 until the end of January 2013 car drivers can collect reward points in the so called “ Sicherheitsgurtschein” of OMV and Vienna Insurance Group. For every 10 Euros spent at an OMV filling station there is a reward point. Depending on the selected reward product between 10, 15 or 20 reward points are required. The “ Sicherheitsgurtscheine” are available at all participating OMV filling stations.
