NWO: HERA Network announces new Joint Research Programme (JRP): Public Spaces: Culture and Integration in Europe

the HAGUE, 05-Sep-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The HERA Network is pleased to announce a new Joint Research Programme (JRP): Public Spaces: Culture and Integration in Europe. By launching the joint HERA JRP Public Spaces (HERA JRP PS) Call for Proposals, the funding organisations involved want to create opportunities for humanities-led, collaborative, transnational research that will result in new academic insights relevant to major social, cultural, and political challenges facing Europe and the world. The HERA JRP PS is co-funded by humanities funding agencies in 24 participating countries and the European Commission, with a total budget amounting up to 20 M€.

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) will act as the Handling Agency for this Call. They are coordinating the Call for Proposals and will be managing the evaluation and selection process on behalf of the HERA funding partners.

The beneficiaries of this Call are eligible researchers located in the HERA JRP PS countries: Austria, Belgium (Wallonia), Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom, irrespective of their nationality.

The research programme will fund new and exciting humanities-centred projects involving researchers from four or more participating countries.
Senior researchers in the humanities who are based in the Netherlands can join a transnational consortium as a Project Leader or Principal Investigator and submit a collaborative research proposal. The deadline for the submission of Outline Proposals is Tuesday 24 October 2017, 14:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time).
