HELSINKI, 27-Dec-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — NIB starts disclosing its purchases of green bonds. First eight transactions have been published on the Bank’s website.

Information on purchases made so far is available on this page. This page has been established in the chapter Loans of NIB’s website because investing in green bonds broadens the Bank’s outreach to financing environmental projects. The new page will be kept updated on a regular basis.

Earlier this year, NIB allocated EUR 500 million to be invested in green bonds issued by companies or municipalities in its member countries. The investments will be used to finance projects aimed at improving the environment and mitigating climate change, in conformity with NIB’s mandate criteria.
