Nordea Asset Management lists first active BetaPlus ETFs on SIX Swiss Exchange to strengthen sustainable investment offering

(IN BRIEF) Nordea Asset Management (NAM) ETF ICAV has joined SIX Swiss Exchange as its latest ETF issuer, marking an important expansion of Switzerland’s ETF ecosystem. With the listing of its first two active BetaPlus Enhanced Sustainable Equity ETFs, NAM introduces a proven investment strategy with a 15-year track record and over EUR 60 billion in assets into a more flexible and tradable ETF format. This addition increases the total number of ETFs on SIX to 2,076, including 214 active ETFs from 22 issuers. Trading activity on SIX continues to grow, with year-to-date ETF turnover reaching CHF 78 billion, up 57.1% from 2024, and active ETF turnover rising by 185.3%. Both NAM and SIX emphasized that the new listings reflect the growing demand for sustainability-focused, actively managed investment solutions.

(PRESS RELEASE) ZURICH, 10-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — SIX Swiss Exchange has welcomed Nordea Asset Management (NAM) ETF ICAV as its newest issuer of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), further expanding Switzerland’s vibrant ETF marketplace. With the debut of NAM’s BetaPlus Enhanced Global Developed Sustainable Equity UCITS ETF and BetaPlus Enhanced Global Sustainable Equity UCITS ETF, the number of ETFs listed on SIX has now reached 2,076, underscoring the exchange’s role as one of Europe’s most dynamic trading hubs.

The launch marks NAM’s entry into the ETF space with its first actively managed BetaPlus Enhanced Sustainable Equity products. These Irish-domiciled UCITS ETFs are designed to combine active management techniques with cost efficiency, offering investors a transparent and sustainable solution that reflects NAM’s expertise in responsible investing and quantitative portfolio construction. Until now, the BetaPlus strategies were only accessible via conventional UCITS funds and mandates. By converting them into an ETF format, NAM provides investors with greater tradability and flexibility while maintaining the same investment process and management team.

NAM highlights that its BetaPlus range integrates sustainability and risk considerations to deliver long-term, consistent alpha. The strategy has already built a strong track record, with over EUR 60 billion in assets under management and more than 15 years of proven performance.

For SIX, this addition strengthens its already diverse offering. The exchange now counts 32 ETF issuers and 214 active ETFs, which make up 10% of the total listings. So far this year, 224 ETFs have been introduced on SIX, including 76 active ETFs — the highest inflow of actively managed products in nearly a decade. Trading activity has also been robust, with ETF turnover reaching CHF 78 billion by the end of August 2025, a 57.1% increase from the same period last year. Notably, turnover in active ETFs surged by 185.3%, and overall ETF transactions climbed 38.2% to 2.1 million.

Cristian Pappone, Regional Head for Switzerland and Austria at Nordea Asset Management, emphasized the importance of the launch: “BetaPlus is a well-established strategy with a long-standing record of success. By offering these active ETFs alongside our UCITS funds, and with the listing on SIX, we are making this solution more accessible, giving investors the flexibility and tradability they expect.”

SIX also underlined the significance of NAM’s entry. Danielle Reischuk, Senior ETFs & ETPs Sales Manager, Exchanges at SIX, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Nordea ETF ICAV as a new issuer. Their addition enhances our position as a leading marketplace for innovative and sustainability-focused investment products.”

With this launch, NAM strengthens its reputation as a key European asset manager committed to ESG integration. The firm manages more than EUR 289 billion in assets and is part of Nordea Group, one of the Nordic region’s most influential financial institutions.
