New Rabobank Agentic Hub Combines AI Innovation With Security, Quality and Governance Controls

(IN BRIEF) Rabobank has established an Agentic Hub to support the broader and more responsible use of AI agents in software development. The Hub brings together knowledge, technical capabilities, practical experience and reusable tools to help more than 1,100 development teams apply AI agents across tasks such as preparation, coding, testing and software review. Rabobank said the initiative is intended to prevent successful applications from remaining isolated experiments while ensuring that engineers retain responsibility for decisions, quality and outcomes. The Hub is also focused on the organisational changes required as engineers shift from primarily writing code to defining objectives, setting boundaries and validating AI-generated results. Quality, security and compliance are being integrated from the start to support controlled adoption across the bank.

(PRESS RELEASE) UTRECHT, 24-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Rabobank has launched an Agentic Hub to accelerate the responsible adoption of AI agents across its software development organisation.

The initiative brings together technical expertise, practical experience, reusable components and new working methods to help development teams apply agentic artificial intelligence more consistently and at greater scale. Rabobank said the Hub is designed to support innovation while operating within established standards for quality, security and compliance.

AI agents can assist software engineers with defined activities across the development lifecycle, including preparing work, writing code, testing applications and reviewing software. The Agentic Hub will provide teams with guidance and shared building blocks, helping them develop and deploy these capabilities without each team having to begin from scratch.

Rabobank has more than 1,100 teams involved in software development. The bank said a centralised approach is needed to ensure that successful AI applications can be reused across the organisation rather than remaining isolated experiments within individual teams.

The Agentic Hub forms part of Rabobank’s broader strategy to make artificial intelligence a core capability across the bank. Its purpose is not limited to technical development, but also includes adoption, organisational context and the wider transformation required as AI changes how software is created.

Rabobank said AI agents are not intended to replace engineers. Instead, their use is expected to evolve the role of software professionals, shifting more attention toward defining goals, setting parameters, validating outputs and maintaining responsibility for decisions and quality.

Myrna Vonk, Transformation Lead of the Agentic Hub, is leading the organisational change linked to the initiative. She said AI is changing both the way software is developed and the way engineers collaborate and structure their work.

Vonk said that without deliberate coordination, the use of AI risks remaining fragmented across separate trials. She added that successful adoption requires clearer choices, new forms of cooperation and an updated approach to software development.

Rabobank is incorporating quality, security and governance considerations from the beginning of AI application development. The bank said this will allow teams to experiment, learn and move proven applications into wider use within defined internal frameworks.

By combining technical development with governance, skills development and practical implementation, Rabobank aims to make AI agents a controlled and useful part of everyday software engineering work.
