New Alstom service centre for tramways hydraulic brakes in Madrid

13-5-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Alstom has inaugurated in Madrid a Lead Service Centre specialised in tramway equipment overhauls and repairs within its business area Transport Life Services (TLS). This new centre will focus its industrial activities on overhauls and repairs of callipers and hydraulic brake units for Alstom Citadis tramways as well as non-Alstom ones. It will also be in charge of damper overhauls for all type of trains, as well as cardan balancing and kit elaboration for modernization projects. This is the first Alstom centre dedicated to this highly specialised maintenance activity.

As of May 2013, the new centre in Madrid will be in charge of the hydraulic brake maintenance services for all Alstom Citadis tram, operating in 40 cities worldwide. In fact, one of the first projects to be carried out in this new site will be the overhaul and repair service for the Dublin tramway fleet.

In a second phase, the centre also plans to offer services such as grease analysis, traction motors overhauls and Citadis Arpege bogies.
