Neste and Partners Introduce Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ for Sustainable River Cruises in the Netherlands
(IN BRIEF) Neste, in collaboration with OK Slurink and Scylla, has launched an initiative to enhance sustainability in the river cruise industry in the Netherlands. Since February 2024, OK Slurink has been supplying Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ to Scylla’s fleet of 40 river cruise ships. This renewable fuel, derived from 100% renewable raw materials, significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil diesel. The partnership aims to promote eco-friendly practices without requiring engine modifications, signaling a pivotal step towards sustainable river cruise operations.
(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 28-Jun-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Neste and OK Slurink, in collaboration with Scylla, have launched a pioneering effort to enhance sustainability within the river cruise sector in the Netherlands. Since February 2024, OK Slurink, a subsidiary of Catom B.V., has been supplying Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ to Scylla’s fleet of 40 river cruise ships. This renewable fuel, derived entirely from renewable raw materials, offers a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil diesel, aligning with environmental goals in inland shipping.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel is noted for its immediate availability and compatibility as a drop-in solution for all diesel-powered vessels, requiring no engine modifications or infrastructure investments. This partnership underscores a collective commitment to reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainable practices in the river cruise industry.
