M&S Debuts Fashion Wholesale Partnership with David Jones in Australia

(IN BRIEF) M&S has launched its first international wholesale fashion partnership with Australia’s David Jones, offering bestselling Womenswear, Menswear, and Lingerie in 24 stores and online. This move builds on M&S’s omnichannel growth strategy—combining franchise expertise, marketplace presence, and targeted wholesale deals—and follows a record-breaking Percy Pig collaboration at Target USA. With over half of Australians now aware of the brand, M&S aims for enduring growth through shared values of quality, innovation, and trust. The agreement coincides with M&S’s broader international restructuring, which included key leadership hires to support global ambitions.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 16-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — M&S is extending its international footprint in Fashion by striking its first global wholesale agreement with David Jones, Australia’s premier department store. Building on the retailer’s earlier success in Food in the US, this partnership brings M&S’s top-selling Womenswear, Menswear, and Lingerie collections to David Jones’s 24 stores—including its Sydney and Melbourne flagships—and online platform.

Underpinning M&S International’s strategy is a vision for an omnichannel presence: collaborating with established franchise partners, leveraging leading online marketplaces, and pursuing selective wholesale opportunities. The David Jones alliance represents M&S’s inaugural Fashion wholesale venture overseas, following the wildly popular Percy Pig launch at Target USA earlier this year, which sold out in just seven days.

Starting today, Australian shoppers from Perth to the Gold Coast can access M&S’s renowned apparel in store and via David Jones’s e-commerce site. With brand recognition now exceeding 50 percent of the Australian population, this collaboration is founded on mutual commitments to quality, innovation, and trust—values central to both M&S and David Jones.

“Over the past year, we’ve reoriented our international agenda toward sustainable, long-term growth,” explained Mark Lemming, M&S’s Managing Director of International. “Australia’s deep cultural ties to the UK and strong awareness of our brand make David Jones an ideal partner. Their shared dedication to excellence and value aligns perfectly with our first wholesale foray in Fashion.”

Bridget Veals, Executive General Manager of Womenswear at David Jones, added, “We’re delighted to introduce Marks & Spencer to our customers. As we continue to assemble a best-in-class brand portfolio, M&S’s time-honored reputation for everyday style and exceptional value makes it a standout addition. We look forward to nurturing a lasting relationship between this beloved British label and Australian consumers.”

Last year’s international reset also saw M&S bolster its leadership team with new senior appointments—including roles for International Partnerships, Commercial strategy, and Managing Director of M&S India—laying the groundwork for future global expansion.
