Ron Hauben to succeed Solender as General Counsel of Ernst & Young LLP US
London, 22-4-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — EY is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Solender as Global Vice Chair and General Counsel, effective today, to carry out the global reorganization of the EY legal function and integrate EY’s internal legal operations worldwide.

Solender brings a wealth of experience as a chief legal officer to his new role. Since 2009, he has served as EY’s Americas Vice Chair and General Counsel, as well as General Counsel of Ernst & Young LLP in the US. Before that, he served as general counsel of major financial institutions, including The Bear Stearns Companies Inc., and of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. He has also been a partner at the law firm Arnold & Porter and taught at Yale and Harvard Law Schools. Solender earned an undergraduate degree from Columbia University and a law degree from Yale Law School.
He will remain based in New York but will spend significant time with the executive team in London.
Solender will be succeeded as General Counsel of Ernst & Young LLP US by Ron Hauben. Hauben previously served as Deputy General Counsel of the firm for 10 years. Prior to joining EY, Hauben performed a range of similar functions in the US and global General Counsel’s Office at PwC. He was a partner at the law firm Bryan Cave and is a graduate of NYU Law School and Binghamton University.
