(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 17-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Metso is pleased to announce that we have secured a contract to supply critical process equipment for Jinnan Iron & Steel Group’s new iron ore concentrator in Sohar, Oman. This greenfield facility—scheduled to commence operations in 2027—will produce 12.6 million tonnes of premium-grade iron ore concentrate each year, strengthening Oman’s position in the global Direct Reduction (DR) market.

Metso’s comprehensive scope of delivery will encompass the grinding circuit—featuring multiple Vertimill® VTM-4500 mills and ball mills outfitted with durable metallic liners and a combined installed power of roughly 25 MW.
