Mattias Fyrenius new CEO of Nobel Media AB

Today Mattias Fyrenius was appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Nobel Media AB, which is entrusted with the management of media rights connected to the Nobel Prize.

8-12-2012 — /europawire.eu/ — Mattias has most recently served as Strategy and Development Director at the Swedish-based publisher and book retailer KF Media (Norstedts, Rabén & Sjögren, Akademibokhandeln, Bokus etc.). In addition to his overall responsibility for strategic development work at the KF Media Group, he has also been in charge of launching Sweden’s leading e-book service.

Mattias was previously head of the New Media business area at the Swedish-based TV4 Group. He also worked for ten years at the international media group Schibsted, among other things as head of digital operations at Svenska Dagbladet, a Stockholm daily newspaper. He holds an M.Sc. degree from the Stockholm School of Economics and has also studied at Stockholm University and Columbia University, New York.

“As a brand, the Nobel Prize occupies an entirely unique position in such fields as science, culture and social issues. It is naturally a fantastic opportunity to be able to join in seeing how using various forms of international media productions can make everything that the Nobel Prize stands for more accessible around the world,” Mattias Fyrenius says in a comment.

“We are pleased that we have succeeded in recruiting Mattias Fyrenius. He has a combination of unique experience from television, the Internet, newspapers and books that we will need in our further development of Nobel Media. Our ambition is to build up a strong, businesslike operation while carefully preserving everything that is unique about the Nobel Prize,” says Lars Heikensten, Chairman of Nobel Media AB and Executive Director of the Nobel Foundation.

Mattias Fyrenius succeeds Camilla Hyltén-Cavallius, who is stepping down at her own initiative after having served as CEO of Nobel Media AB since 2004. Mattias will assume his new position no later than March 1, 2013.
