Maris Interiors completes office design and relocation for Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan at 10 Portman Square in London

LONDON, 20-8-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Maris Interiors have just completed an office design and relocation for Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan at 10 Portman Square in London.

Teachers’ is Canada’s largest single-profession pension plan with $154.5 billion in net assets. They pay pensions and invest plan assets on behalf of 311,000 working and retired teachers.

Maris was appointed to undertake construction of Teachers’ new office space for their investment team in west London. In addition, Maris was invited to examine and improve upon the architect’s original scheme.

Consequently Maris designed a new reception space which would act as focal point for the entire office. Our design opens up the space and emphasises the views across west London. By working with, rather than against the architecture of the building we could deliver an open and welcoming environment which simultaneously offers a high degree of flexibility.

The design principles for the new area were: classic, timeless and tactile. The use of creative walnut joinery and dramatic marble features come together to create a high-end office design with a modern, professional contemporary feel.
