Maersk Expands Northeast Fulfilment Capacity With 617,000-Square-Foot Massachusetts Hub

The 617,000-square-foot facility will create approximately 1,000 jobs and expand Maersk’s logistics capacity in the U.S. Northeast. It will use advanced conveyor and sortation technology to support high-volume fulfilment and faster, more reliable delivery across the region. (PRESS RELEASE) COPENHAGEN, 16-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — A.P. Moller – Maersk has announced a $100 million investment in a new fulfilment hub in Hopedale, Massachusetts, expanding its logistics capacity in the U.S. Northeast and creating approximately 1,000 jobs.

The 617,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to begin operations in late August and will support a major e-commerce customer. It will strengthen Maersk’s regional fulfilment capabilities and improve the company’s ability to provide faster and more reliable delivery services to consumers across the Northeast.

The Hopedale site will become a major addition to Maersk’s North American Contract Logistics network. Designed for high-volume fulfilment operations, the facility will help customers respond to rising consumer expectations for speed, reliability and flexibility in delivery.

Dave Hune, Head of Maersk Contract Logistics North America, said companies are increasingly seeking logistics partners that can position inventory closer to end customers and respond to demand more efficiently.

Equipped with advanced conveyor and sortation technology, the facility will support high-volume fulfilment and delivery across the Northeast. The operation is designed to maintain speed, reliability and scalability, including during periods of peak demand.

In addition to expanding Maersk’s regional supply chain infrastructure, the Hopedale facility is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the local community through job creation and local operational activity.

Recruitment is already underway for a broad range of leadership, operations and support roles.

The investment supports Maersk’s wider strategy of developing integrated logistics solutions that connect transportation, warehousing, fulfilment and distribution into a seamless customer experience.
