Logicor Expands Nordic Footprint with Strategic Land Acquisitions in Sweden

(IN BRIEF) On March 27, 2024, Logicor, a prominent player in European logistics real estate, finalized the acquisition of two greenfield land plots in key logistics hubs in Sweden. With plans to develop over 100,000 sqm of new logistics space, the acquisitions underscore Logicor’s commitment to expanding its presence in high-potential markets like Sweden. The first plot, situated in Nykvarn near Greater Stockholm, will offer over 60,000 GLA sqm, while the second in Staffanstorp-Malmo will provide more than 40,000 GLA sqm. These strategic locations, coupled with their proximity to major transport networks, position Logicor to meet the growing demand for modern, sustainable logistics facilities in the region. The company aims for BREEAM Excellent certifications for both developments, reflecting its focus on environmentally responsible real estate solutions. Christoffer Walljaeger, Director and Asset Manager for Sweden at Logicor, highlights the significance of these acquisitions in aligning with the company’s expansion strategy and meeting market demands.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 27-Mar-2024 — /EuropaWire/ —  Logicor, a leading owner, manager, and developer of European logistics real estate has acquired two greenfield land plots in prime logistics hubs in Sweden with the plan to deliver more than 100,000 sqm of new logistics space. The seller was Kilenkrysset, a private Swedish landowner. The price is undisclosed.

The two new land acquisitions follow Logicor’s recent acquisitions of sites in Gothenburg and Rosersberg and once developed, will further expand and strengthen Logicor’s presence in Sweden.

The first site is in Nykvarn, one of the best logistics sub-markets serving Greater Stockholm, and will accommodate more than  60,000 GLA sqm. The land plot is located west of Södertälje close to the main transport network of the E20 westward, road 55 with north and southbound connections, as well as with the E4 and Södertälje port.

The second site is in Staffanstorp – Malmo, and will accommodate more than 40,000 GLA sqm. The land plot is located only five kilometres from the E6, which connects Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Copenhagen. The E22, linking Malmö with Norrköping to the north in Sweden, is also nearby.

The planning process is expected to begin in Q2 2024, with the construction phase  to commence in the first half of 2025 for both projects. The developments will target BREEAM Excellent certifications.

The acquisition of these two strategically located sites is an example of our strategy in action. We are focussed on expanding our footprint in high conviction markets, like Sweden, where we know there is strong demand for modern, sustainably built real estate.

We are very pleased to acquire such well located sites, close to both metropolitan regions and important transport routes, and look forward to developing them in close collaboration with our future customers.

Logicor currently owns 1.1m sqm of real estate across the Nordic regions, an area where demand for well located, sustainable assets continues to outstrip supply, and manages an additional 500,000 sqm in AUM.
