LLOYDS BANKING GROUP APPOINTS REGIONAL MD OF COMMERCIAL BANKING FOR SCOTLAND

18-1-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Lloyds Banking Group has announced the appointment of Alasdair Gardner as Regional MD of Commercial Banking for Scotland. Alasdair will now take on responsibility for all of the Group’s SME clients in Scotland, in addition to his existing role leading the Scottish mid-market business which supports businesses with a turnover of up to £750m.

Alasdair, who joined Bank of Scotland in 1987, has a wealth of experience in
commercial and corporate banking, with previous roles heading up the oil and gas industry team, as well as establishing an acquisition finance team for the Group.

Reporting jointly into Tim Porter, Network Director for Commercial and Mark Stokes, Managing Director Mid Markets, Alasdair will be based in the Group’s Scottish headquarters at The Mound, Edinburgh.

Biography
Alasdair is a successful leader with over 20 years of banking and finance experience across a range of sectors. He took on the role of running the Scottish corporate business in 2009 which supports customers with turnover in excess of £15-500m. As part of this role Alasdair also led the UK- wide Corporate Complex Deal team, supporting customers who require complex financial solutions supporting acquisitions, expansion and development plans. Prior to this he held various senior roles for the Group in both the Renewable Energy and Oil and Gas sectors. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland and a Trustee the Bank of Scotland Foundation.
