Lindner Successfully Completes QH Spring Building Complex in Berlin’s Innovative Quartier Heidestrasse

(IN BRIEF) Lindner SE celebrates the successful conclusion of its involvement in the QH Spring building complex, a part of Quartier Heidestrasse, one of Berlin’s largest and most innovative development areas. This six-building complex, marked by smart, energy-efficient, and sustainable living, is set to transform Berlin’s Europacity near the main railway station. QH Spring, acting as the neighborhood’s southern gateway, offers a diverse range of facilities, including apartments, shops, a hotel, and a children’s day-care center. Lindner’s comprehensive contributions encompass everything from hotel interiors to creating child-friendly environments in the day-care center, solidifying its role in shaping this vibrant urban development.

(PRESS RELEASE) ARNSTORF, 7-NOV-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — With a gross floor area of 295,000 m², Quartier Heidestrasse is one of the largest and most innovative new development areas in the German capital. Lindner SE is involved in the construction of several of the quarter’s sub-projects and is now celebrating the successful completion of the QH Spring building complex.

A City within the City

A new district full of vibrancy, culture and joie de vivre is being created in the heart of Berlin’s Europacity: Quartier Heidestrasse is within walking distance of Berlin’s main railway station and combines optimal transport links with relaxing green and natural spaces. The six building complexes – QH Spring, QH Track, QH Core, QH Colonnades, QH Straight and QH Crown – are partly completed and partly still under construction. Each building combines smart living with energy-efficient construction – modern, digital and sustainable.

Prime Example: QH Spring

QH Spring, which will be completed in June 2023, is another completed sub-project in the neighbourhood: As the southern entrance to the neighbourhood, QH Spring mediates between the older existing buildings of Europacity and the new buildings of the Heidestrasse neighbourhood. A total of around 20,000 m² of lettable space now accommodates apartments, shops, a hotel and a children’s day-care centre. The spacious outdoor areas continue to invite people to walk, play and linger.

Holidays in Berlin’s newest District

Particularly impressive is the URBAN LOFT Hotel with 180 rooms in three different categories: Lindner carried out painting and floor work in all hotel areas, took care of the signage, installed locking systems and carried out fire protection work on the openings. Elegant wooden doors manufactured in-house separate the individual rooms. Guests entering the hotel through the lobby are greeted by a modern, complete interior: A number of Lindner services contributed to this, such as the installation of an acoustic canopy ceiling or high-quality floor coatings, tiling and fit-out work. In the adjacent fitness area, the floors were fitted with a design floor covering and custom-made lighting was installed. Lindner also carried out other services and installations in the commercial kitchen, lifts, staircases, corridors, changing rooms and toilets, as well as the back office. A particular highlight is the hotel’s own cinema: Lindner covered the floor with a designer carpet to create an exclusive cinema feeling. Various fit-out services in the hotel rooms were also part of the contract, including the installation of ceiling, floor and wall systems as well as a large part of the bathroom fittings. The FLOOR and more® hollow floor, which was manufactured in-house, transforms the rooms into a cosy temporary home. The hotel’s roof terrace also offers a breathtaking view over the entire city district – and of course the security of the hotel guests had to be guaranteed. Lindner carried out the locksmith’s work on the railings and took on the execution planning, including the slope planning of the terrace. There was also a lot of work to be done in the basement of the hotel: The basement was fitted with fire-resistant steel doors, various windows, external wall insulation and a smoke curtain, as well as bicycle racks and a signposting system.

Child-Friendly Environment in the Day Care Centre

The combination of apartments and a day-care centre in one building complex makes organisation easier, especially for the families living there: The day-care centre in QH Spring is spread over two floors and offers enough space for around 130 children. Lindner installed custom-made luminaires and door systems with anti-pinch protection to prevent children from being injured by trapped fingers. A metal acoustic ceiling panel keeps the noise level in the nursery at a comfortable level. Lindner also manufactured and installed ball and bounce proof canopy ceilings with integrated lighting for the nursery’s sports areas. The interior work was completed with other services such as floor coatings, parquet flooring, painting, screed and tiling work, as well as the installation of glazing, door systems, locking systems and wooden window sills. Around the nursery, Lindner also installed signage, banisters and wooden steps, fitted a children’s kitchen for all-day catering and carried out various works in the bathrooms and toilets

An Ideal Home for Families

The spacious living areas, spread over three buildings, also offer excellent views of the neighbourhood and boast modern furnishings. Here too, Lindner SE provided a complete fit-out to the highest standards. This included the tiling of the bathrooms, the installation of shower trays and mirrors, and the installation of custom-made door systems. Lindner also laid floors, installed wooden windowsills and extended balconies and loggias. Other services were carried out throughout the residential part of the building, including the staircase, corridors and basement.
