Lindner Group joins Concular’s partner network to recover materials and products for reprocessing, recycling and resale

(PRESS RELEASE) ARNSTORF, Germany, 25-May-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — Lindner Group, Europe’s leading supplier, manufacturer and service provider for the interior fit-out, building envelopes and insulation, has announced its participation in the partner network of Concular, the market leader for material passports and the reintroduction of materials. By joining the company aims at recovering materials and products for reprocessing, recycling and resale for a better circular value chain.

Digital Ecosystem

Concular consists of numerous experts from different areas of the construction sector and the digital industry. Together, they use software to promote circular construction and support the construction industry in becoming resource-efficient and CO2-neutral. This involves digitising materials from existing buildings that are about to be demolished and reintroducing them into the material cycle along a process chain of different actors.

Pulling Together

However, this vision cannot be achieved alone ‒ which is why Concular has built up a large network of companies, offices and research institutions in recent years, all of which are striving for a closed material cycle. The value chain is to become fully circular, from design and construction, to deconstruction and reprocessing, to testing and reconstruction. The partner network now consists of numerous organisations in the areas of development, design, product and service. With each Circularity Partner, Concular develops an individual pathway ‒ aligned with each partner’s services ‒ to implement a circular value chain.

Partnership with ADD.VANTAGE

Recently, the Lindner Group also became an official Circularity Partner of Concular. Under the category “Product”, Concular supports Lindner in recovering the desired materials and products for reprocessing, recycling and resale. Together with 30 other organisations, the Lindner Group is thus part of the partner network, which is entirely under the motto “Together, circular”.

Informative Kick-off Event

A fortnight ago, the initial online kick-off for the Circularity Partner Programme took place. Almost 100 participants attended, including representatives from the industry, politics and the press. In a short presentation, founder Dominik Campanella introduced the Berlin-based start-up Concular, focusing in particular on the company’s history and the goals of the partnership: The partner network is intended to set an example for the transformation of the construction industry, to create awareness, to network like-minded people and to inspire new solutions through increased exchange. The conclusion of the event was “Just start” ‒ companies should try out how they can contribute to the circular economy and not be afraid of possible mistakes.

First Joint Projects Underway

Although the partnership has not existed for very long, two joint projects between Lindner and Concular already exist: MUCBOOK and Behrensbau. In the case of the Behrensbau building, Concular was commissioned by the real estate administration BLB in North Rhine-Westphalia to digitally capture existing products and make them available for other projects. Among other products, the Lindner Life Stereo 125 double glazing system was installed in the building back then. After a joint inspection by Lindner and Concular, it was determined which products could still be used. The walls were still in good condition, so Lindner offered to dismantle, reprocess and pack them. Concular then placed the products on the platform. This means that the reconditioned glass partition wall systems can now be reused for new projects ‒ a construction method that is not only cost-effective and efficient, but also sustainable.
