Li Auto L9 Livis 5G Receives World-First SGS Premium Performance Mark for Automotive Cellular Communication

(IN BRIEF) SGS has awarded its Premium Performance Mark to the Li Auto L9 Livis 5G intelligent cockpit platform, marking the first approval of this certification in the automotive cellular communication sector. The evaluation was based on SGS’s proprietary automotive 5G cockpit communication testing protocol, which assesses end-to-end connectivity performance rather than isolated metrics such as peak speed. The framework measures connection stability, bandwidth capacity, weak-signal recovery and performance under network congestion. The Li Auto L9 Livis 5G platform exceeded SGS thresholds across all four areas. SGS highlighted its performance in multi-card dual-active operation, 5G-A high bandwidth, intelligent network selection and low-latency service optimisation, positioning it as a benchmark for advanced in-vehicle connectivity.

(PRESS RELEASE) BAAR, 14-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — SGS has awarded its Premium Performance Mark to the Li Auto L9 Livis 5G, a next-generation intelligent cockpit platform designed to deliver advanced in-vehicle connectivity.

The approval marks the first time the SGS Premium Performance Mark has been granted in the automotive cellular communication field, setting a new benchmark for assessing connectivity performance inside vehicles.

The SGS Premium Performance Mark is based on SGS’s proprietary testing protocol for automotive 5G cockpit communication, PT-26-000-105640. The protocol was developed using SGS’s expertise in cellular communication, radio frequency testing, real-world network validation and core network assessment.

Unlike evaluations that focus on isolated indicators such as peak data speed, the SGS methodology examines end-to-end connectivity performance. This provides a more practical view of how in-vehicle communication systems perform under real operating conditions.

The evaluation framework assesses four key areas of in-vehicle connectivity: connection stability, bandwidth capacity, weak-signal recovery capability, and performance of key services under network congestion.

These criteria are designed to reflect demanding real-world driving and usage scenarios, including highways, suburban roads, remote locations and weak-signal environments such as underground parking areas.

The framework also considers high-intensity use cases, including multiple users connected at the same time and high-bandwidth applications. In these conditions, stable, reliable and efficient connectivity is essential for the user experience.

Through a clearly defined testing protocol and quantifiable results, SGS translates connectivity performance into measurable indicators. This gives manufacturers and customers a structured way to evaluate operational performance and compare different systems and platforms more transparently.

SGS conducted an independent and comprehensive evaluation of the Li Auto L9 Livis 5G high-performance intelligent cockpit platform. The results showed that the platform exceeded standard thresholds across all four evaluation dimensions, qualifying it for SGS Premium Performance Mark status.

The Li Auto L9 Livis 5G platform demonstrated strong performance in multi-card dual-active operation, 5G-A high-bandwidth capability, intelligent network selection and low-latency service optimisation.

SGS said these capabilities show the system’s ability to maintain stable connectivity, efficient data transmission and a responsive user experience in complex operating conditions.

The SGS Premium Performance Mark is designed to provide a transparent and consistent approach to product performance evaluation. Based on defined testing protocols and measurable criteria, it enables manufacturers to communicate validated product performance clearly and credibly.

The mark forms part of SGS DIGITAL TRUST, a global framework created to help organisations build, demonstrate and sustain trust across the digital ecosystem. The framework consolidates SGS services into a structured approach for customers operating in an increasingly complex digital environment.
