AUGSBURG, 05-Sep-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — From 19 to 23 September, corporate responsibility action week events are being held at KUKA for the second time.
“A company effort”
During the corporate responsibility action week from 19 to 23 September, events are being held at KUKA for the second time. The themed week is an initiative of the VDMA (German Engineering Federation) in which companies across Germany are taking part. In keeping with the motto “A company effort” (German: “Wir unternehmen was”), KUKA also demonstrates its commitment to corporate responsibility and organizes numerous social projects in Augsburg.
KUKA apprentices, for example, support social institutions such as Augsburger Tafel e.V. (food bank), the Lechrain Senior Citizen Center and the Sozialkaufhaus Augsburg (charity store). They get actively involved with hands-on assistance at the food distribution centers, as well as taking on minor clean-up and renovation projects, organizing afternoon reading events and going for walks with residents. They lend a hand wherever help is required, thus actively promoting the issue of sustainability.
About the VDMA action week
With the motto “A company effort”, the VDMA is organizing the themed week for the second time from 19 to 23 September, with events being held at companies across the country. The objective of the initiative is to raise public, media and political awareness of the social commitment of German machine and system builders and to transform the activities of individuals into a visible campaign. The patron of this year’s initiative is once again Minister for Economic Affairs Sigmar Gabriel. Almost 100 companies took part in the first action week in 2014.
