(PRESS RELEASE) NOVO MESTO, 23-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — On Friday, 20 September, Krka employees once again participated in the European Mobility Week for the ninth year in a row, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility. Employees from 13 countries where Krka operates joined the company’s annual Car-Free Day campaign, highlighting a growing shift towards sustainable commuting. What began as a one-time event has now evolved into a regular part of employees’ lives, with many choosing to carpool, use public transportation, bike, walk, or adopt other eco-friendly travel methods. This initiative aligns with Krka’s Mobility Plan, introduced in 2015, which encourages employees to embrace sustainable commuting regularly.

This year’s European Mobility Week focused on the theme “Shared Public Space,” emphasizing the importance of treating transportation options and public activities equally to improve quality of life, enhance social equity, reduce pollution, and increase safety. Krka has actively supported these values, encouraging its workforce to adopt sustainable travel options year-round.

Krka’s commitment is paying off, with a steady rise in the number of employees opting for eco-friendly commuting methods across both Slovenia and the company’s international offices. Employees from 13 additional countries, including Kazakhstan, Germany, and Hungary, also joined this year’s Car-Free Day.

Additionally, Krka continues to integrate environmentally friendly technology into its operations. In 2024, the company introduced Slovenia’s first electric delivery truck, which will reduce fuel consumption by over 15,000 liters annually, significantly cutting the environmental impact.

Through consistent promotion of sustainable commuting and eco-friendly technology, Krka is making meaningful strides towards reducing car usage, improving road safety, and contributing to cleaner air in all regions where it operates.
