Kiln announces new hire with Lloyd’s China

19-12-2012 — /europawire.eu/ — Kiln, the international specialist insurance and reinsurance underwriting group, today announced that it has appointed Gu Jin, an experienced reinsurance professional with extensive knowledge of the Chinese reinsurance market, to lead its new venture with Lloyd’s Insurance Company (China) Ltd in Shanghai.

Jin will be responsible for developing a portfolio of business for Kiln’s Underwriting Division within Lloyd’s China.  Kiln will operate in China through Lloyd’s Insurance Company (China) Ltd as part of the newly formed Kiln Underwriting Division.

The appointment builds on Kiln’s existing regional operations in Hong Kong and Singapore, and reaffirms the company’s continued commitment to the Asian specialist reinsurance market.

Jin, who will join Kiln in January, said: “I am delighted to be joining Kiln at this exciting time as it seeks to expand its footprint in the strategically significant Asian market. Kiln and Lloyd’s both benefit from strong reputations in the region and I look forward to building on that further by taking a lead role in developing Kiln’s business in China.”
