67th IAA Cars in Frankfurt am Main: journalists can register now

BERLIN, 05-Jul-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Accreditation starts now for journalists to the 67th International Motor Show (IAA) Cars, which will be held in Frankfurt am Main from September 14 to 24, 2017, with the slogan “Future now.” It will be preceded by the two Press Days on September 12 and 13, which are reserved for journalists from all over the world. On the Press Days the exhibitors will hold around 100 press conferences – about 60 of them on the first Press Day. Journalists can access the accreditation portal via the press section of the IAA website: http://www.iaa.de/presse/akkreditierung/.

Valid press ID is needed to obtain an IAA press ticket. The VDA is responsible for checking and approving accreditations. Accreditation in advance of the IAA is only available online. Once the VDA’s accreditation team has checked the documents, journalists will receive their press ticket by e-mail. The option of online accreditation will end on September 8, 2017.

Press accreditation will be possible in the IAA Press Center (CMF) on the Frankfurt trade show grounds on Monday, September 11, 2017, from 9.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Media representatives will not have access to the IAA show grounds on September 11.

On the IAA Press Days – Tuesday, September 12, and Wednesday, September 13, 2017, (from 8.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.) – journalists can be accredited in the CMF and at the City, Torhaus (trade fair train station) and Portalhaus entrances. The main accreditation point will be at the Portalhaus entrance, which can be reached by shuttle bus from the Rebstock car park. Journalists can also be accredited at these entrances on Thursday, September 14, and Friday, September 15, 2017 – on the Trade Days.

On the Public Days – Saturday, September 16, to Sunday, September 24, 2017 – accreditation will be possible only in the CMF.

On the eve of the first Press Day, i.e. Monday, September 11, 2017, the IAA’s opening press conference will be held in the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt. Here VDA President Matthias Wissmann and VDA Managing Director Klaus Bräunig will provide information about the IAA’s highlights.

The exhibitors’ press conferences will begin on Tuesday, September 12, and on Wednesday, September 13, at 8.30 a.m. on both days. A chronological schedule of all the press conferences is available at: https://www.iaa.de/. The press conference schedule will be kept up-to-date.

On the two Press Days accredited journalists may park free of charge in the Rebstock car park. On all other exhibition days, accredited journalists can obtain an exit ticket from the Press Center in the CMF.

Please note: In order to ensure the highest level of security at the IAA, bags will be checked at the entrances. This may result in longer waiting times. We recommend reducing the large bags you need to the minimum and planning plenty of time for your IAA visit.

This year again, from mid-August the free official app for the 67th IAA Cars will be available for iOS (iPhone® and iPad®) and Android. Alongside the IAA 2017 exhibitor directory with contact details, the app provides a site map (incl. route planner) with exhibitors’ stand data, a product search, detailed exhibitor information and a function for bookmarking exhibitors and events.
