José Antonio Miranda to become Gamesa’s top executive (CEO) for the entire Latin American region

Biscay, Spain, 15-1-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — José Antonio Miranda has been made Gamesa’s top executive (CEO) for the entire Latin American region, after 4 years leading Gamesa China.

Miranda, who joined Gamesa in 2007 as Managing Director of the Electric Components Division,  was appointed in 2011 CEO of China, a region that has become a key global production and supply hub of Gamesa. The company is present in China in its capacity as OEM and wind farm developer where it won orders for the supply of 450 MW in 2014. Miranda holds a Senior Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Oviedo and a MBA from the Comillas Pontifical University (ICADE).

Meanwhile, Álvaro Bilbao will take over CEO of Gamesa China, where he will replace José Antonio Miranda. Bilbao, who joined Gamesa in 2007, holds a Senior Electrical Engineering degree and a MBA from the University of the Basque Country. Prior to this new position, Bilbao headed up Gamesa Energy Transmission (GET) and, since 2013, has been working as Director of Operations and GET for Europe & RoW region.
