(PRESS RELEASE) MILAN, 20-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Intesa Sanpaolo has been recognised as Italy’s Best Investment Bank at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, with the award presented to the Group’s IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division.

The Division is led by Mauro Micillo and was honoured at the awards ceremony held in London last week.

The recognition confirms IMI Corporate & Investment Banking’s leading role in the Italian investment banking market and highlights a business model based on specialist expertise, innovation, international reach and close support for the real economy.

The Division works with corporates, financial institutions and public finance clients, providing integrated solutions designed to support growth, transformation and development in domestic and international markets.

Euromoney’s award also recognises IMI CIB’s ability to create long-term value for clients through a broad offering that includes advisory, capital markets, structured finance, transaction banking and tailored solutions for business growth and international expansion.

Mauro Micillo, Chief of Intesa Sanpaolo’s IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, said the award reflects the market’s trust in the Division and the commitment of its people.

“Being recognised by Euromoney as Italy’s Best Investment Bank is an important acknowledgement of the trust that the market places in our Division and in the commitment of our people,” said Micillo.

He added that, in an environment requiring vision, agility and the ability to support change, IMI CIB will continue to stand alongside Italian companies and the many businesses that represent the country’s excellence.

Micillo said the Division will continue to use its specialised expertise, international network and tailored solutions to support clients’ investment, innovation and growth plans.

“Our ambition remains to be a trusted, long-term partner for the growth of Italy’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” he added.

Established in 1992, the Euromoney Awards for Excellence are among the most respected honours in global banking and financial services. The awards recognise institutions that stand out for service quality, innovation, business performance, growth and value creation for clients and stakeholders.

The 2026 award marks another milestone in IMI Corporate & Investment Banking’s long record of recognition and reinforces its position among the leading players in international investment banking.

In 2024, the Division was also recognised by Euromoney as Italy’s Best Investment Bank and Italy’s Best Bank for Corporates.

Earlier this year, Global Finance named IMI CIB Best Investment Bank in Italy for the sixth consecutive year.

Intesa Sanpaolo said these recognitions reaffirm the strength of IMI CIB’s business model and its ability to support the growth and competitiveness of companies, while contributing to Italy’s economic development and strengthening the Group’s international presence.

Several banks within Intesa Sanpaolo’s International Banks Division, led by Paola Papanicolaou, were also recognised at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026.

PBZ, or Privredna banka Zagreb, was named Croatia’s Best Retail Bank and Croatia’s Best Bank for ESG.

Banca Intesa Beograd was recognised as Serbia’s Best Bank, while AlexBank received the award for Egypt’s Best Retail Bank.

CIB Bank was also named Hungary’s Best for Mortgages/Home Loans.

Intesa Sanpaolo said the awards further strengthen its position, under the leadership of CEO Carlo Messina, as one of the world’s leading banking groups.

The Group said the recognitions also highlight the value of its diverse business platforms and their ability to meet the changing needs of households and businesses while supporting innovation, competitiveness and sustainable growth.
