Furthermore, it will increase its collaboration with Europe’s leading companies, institutions, universities and research centers in this field, and will be able to increase its participation in multinational initiatives, fundraising, improve its offer of solutions and its competitiveness.

Software-intensive systems combine global computing systems, software services and the Internet with technologies based on embedded systems (integrated in products), enabling the generation of smart systems and solutions based on technologies such as Internet of Things, real-time systems, mobility, cloud computing and big data, among others. By driving innovation in the production of software and in the systems and services in which software has a significant impact, ITEA favors global competitiveness and sustainable economic growth in the digital technology industry, as well as in those that are dependent on its development.

Indra has been a part of ITEA since 1999 and has actively participated in several projects, becoming the third-largest Spanish organization in terms of effort. Indra’s main reference in ITEA is the OPEES project, which offers tools for the development of embedded software for aeronautical technologies. Other ITEA projects led by the company in the scope of big data technologies and real-time data integration platforms are NEMO&CODED, IMPONET and DiCoMa.

Innovation at the service of digital transformation

Being part of the ITEA Board of Directors consolidates Indra’s position as one of the leading companies in the digital technology realm and potentiates its capacity for innovating and shaping this industry’s future. Leader in real-time technologies, process automation and mobilization, analytics and big data or cybersecurity, among others, Indra has become a benchmark in the transformation toward a digital economy, with assets in the realm of Internet of Things and its applications across different sectors.

Also in the field of innovation applied to digital technology development, Indra currently leads two R&D&i projects, Govinda and SMACTesting, framed within the CDTI FEDER-Innterconecta program. Its goal is to improve software development of digital solutions by improving the integration of new developments with organizations’ business, and the design of testing procedures for their optimization and orientation toward the so-called SMACT technologies: Social, Mobility, Analytics, Cloud and Internet of Things.

Both GOVINDA and SMACTesting are part of the strategy for the continuous improvement of software development processes at Indra’s Global Development Centers, whose goal is to cut production and delivery times, reduce costs and increase the quality of the product developed.
