Inclusion of Euronext in the CAC 40 Index highlights transformation since IPO and value creation for shareholders

(IN BRIEF) Euronext will join the CAC 40® Index effective 22 September 2025, marking a major milestone in its growth and recognition of its strong market performance since its IPO in 2014. From operating four markets at IPO, the Group now manages regulated markets in seven European countries and covers the full capital markets value chain, with plans to expand to Athens. Euronext has tripled revenues and quadrupled EBITDA since listing, while market capitalization has surged from €1.4 billion to €14.5 billion. The company’s inclusion in the CAC 40® follows earlier index milestones, including entry into the SBF 120® in 2014 and the CAC Next 20® in 2021. CEO Stéphane Boujnah emphasized the achievement as proof of Euronext’s transformation, resilience, and central role in shaping Europe’s financial infrastructure.

(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM/BRUSSELS/DUBLIN/LISBON/MILAN/OSLO/ PARIS, 12-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Euronext, the leading European capital markets infrastructure, will soon mark an important milestone in its growth story as it prepares to join the CAC 40® Index (PX1). Following the quarterly review by the CAC® Family Scientific Committee, Euronext will officially enter France’s benchmark equity index after market close on Friday 19 September, with the change effective from Monday 22 September 2025.

This recognition highlights the remarkable journey Euronext has undertaken since its initial public offering in June 2014. At the time of its IPO, the Group managed four market infrastructures across Europe. Today, Euronext operates regulated markets in Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon, Milan, Oslo and Paris, standing as the premier European market infrastructure. The Group now covers the full spectrum of the capital markets value chain, providing services in listing, trading, clearing, settlement, custody, and solutions for both issuers and investors. In July 2025, Euronext announced plans to extend its unique federal model to Athens, further strengthening its European footprint.

The company’s financial evolution underscores this growth. Annual revenues more than tripled from €458.5 million in 2014 to over €1.6 billion in 2024, while adjusted EBITDA more than quadrupled over the same period, rising from €225.4 million to above €1.0 billion. Market capitalization has expanded from €1.4 billion at the IPO to €14.5 billion as of 22 August 2025. These figures reflect Euronext’s ability to create long-term value for shareholders and its commitment to disciplined cost management.

Euronext’s progression through indices further emphasizes its rise: after joining the SBF 120® Index in December 2014, it entered the CAC Next 20® Index in June 2021, following the acquisition of the Borsa Italiana Group. Its forthcoming inclusion in the CAC 40® now signals recognition of its scale, resilience, and strategic importance within European and global markets.

Stéphane Boujnah, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Managing Board of Euronext, commented:
“Our inclusion in the CAC 40® is a testament to the remarkable journey we have undertaken since our IPO in June 2014. Since then, we have accelerated our growth through strategic acquisitions, geographic expansion, and diversification into new asset classes, trading and post-trade services, and SaaS solutions. This milestone demonstrates that when Europeans decide to succeed together, they can transform capital markets and the financial infrastructure landscape. It illustrates the resilience of our business model, the change in scale of the Group, and Euronext’s pivotal role in the financial ecosystem and in shaping European capital markets. This achievement also reflects our continuous growth and our unwavering commitment to transparency, innovation and excellence, honouring the dedication of our teams as well as the trust of our clients, partners, investors, reference shareholders, members of the Supervisory Board, supervisors and European policymakers.”
