Hungarian national energy company MVM to again sponsor the Women’s Handball CL Quarter-Final this year

BUDAPEST, 31-3-2015 — /EuropaWire/ —  MVM Hungarian Electricity Ltd. has entered into a naming sponsorship agreement with the Hungarian Handball Federation for the Women’s Champions League Final4 in 2015, too. The MVM EHF Final4 will be held again in Budapest in just 40 days, on 9 and 10 May 2015.

Similarly to last year, the second MVM Women’s Handball EHF Final4 will be hosted by the ‘Papp László’ Budapest Sports Arena. The quarter-finals will take place on Saturday 9 May 2015, and the bronze match will be held the next day, on 10 May, in the early afternoon, while contestants will go for the gold medal in the Arena in the early evening. Although the teams participating in the quarter-final are not yet known, MVM trusts that nothing can stop the Győr team to repeat its championship.

‘The MVM EHF Final4 event last year had a huge success among sports enthusiasts, since full house was awaiting the teams during the two days in the Arena, which can seat 10,000 spectators. We hope that similarly to 2014, the handball team of the Győr Audi ETO can compete for the recognition to be awarded to the winner before a domestic audience this year as well and can win the CL trophy for the third time,’ said Csilla Nagy, Acting Director of Communications of the MVM Group. ‘We have provided “lots of energy” so far to the best players in the Hungarian handball sport, and now we are proud that we can also be the naming sponsor of the second Women’s Handball Champions League FINAL4. We believe that the organisation of the event in Budapest will further increase the rank of Hungary and the Group both in our country and at the international level.

The Championship League created by the European Handball Federation, which is the most prestigious handball club competition series in the world, has been existing since 1993/94. The winners have been selected in a Final Four system in the men’s discipline since 2009/10, while among women, since last year, during which the four best teams compete for the trophy by playing two quarter-finals, then a bronze match and a final on a single weekend. This year, the winning team can raise a new trophy, which is made with the involvement of the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts, by the graduated students of the prestigious institution.

Similarly to most large companies in the world, MVM also believes that economic development is also reflected today in the development of culture, the social net, and the educational and professional culture in Hungary, as well as at the level of development of healthy lifestyles and sports culture. Engaging in responsible and well-thought-out business practices, the MVM Group is committed to take a role in sports sponsorship, the preservation of national and European values, and the achievement of the goals of society as a whole to an extent commensurate with its economic weight. MVM has been the priority main sponsor of the Győr Audi ETO Women’s Handball team and the naming sponsor of the MKB-MVM Veszprém Men’s Handball team since the autumn of 2013, whereby it is one of the most important domestic sponsors of this branch of sport.
