High performance elastomers: Newly modernized technical hub in Leverkusen to enable development of new Vulkollan® based solutions as part of Covestro’s Solutions & Specialties segment

Hands-on expertise and dedicated equipment to support customers challenges

(PRESS RELEASE) LEVERKUSEN, 12-Nov-2021 — /EuropaWire/ — Covestro AG (ETR: 1COV), a German producer of polyurethane and polycarbonate based raw materials and one of world’s leading polymer companies, has announced that its technical center in Leverkusen has been modernized with the latest generation processing equipment for high performance polyurethane elastomers of the Vulkollan® range. Fully equipped with the latest generation and dedicated equipment for the processing of Desmodur® 15 based elastomers, the center aims at enabling the development of new Vulkollan® based solutions as part of Covestro’s Solutions & Specialties segment. It is the perfect set-up for its experts to develop, test, prototype and customize customer solutions.

“For this high performance elastomer, it is all about a close customer interaction to leverage the full benefit of differentiated innovative solutions,” says Sucheta Govil, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Covestro. “The investment in the global Vulkollan® technical center is another consequent step of our commitment to develop elastomer solutions for our customers, especially when other elastomers are reaching their limit.”
