Green Product Mark of TÜV Rheinland awarded with GENICES Certificate at Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) conference in Kiev

KIEV, 09-Nov-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — On October 19, 2016, the Green Product Mark of TÜV Rheinland was awarded with GENICES Certificate at the annual general conference of Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) in Kiev, Ukraine.

GENICES, the GEN Internationally Coordinated Ecolabelling System, is a peer review process that benchmarks GEN members as a basis for mutual trust and confidence, after which they may have input on standards/specifications to be included in the common internationally accepted database of criteria. GENICES onsite assessment, the culmination of collaborative work across BFs and regions for months, was taking place on September 19-20, 2016, in Cologne with two assessors from peer ecolabelling schemes operating in Nordic countries. The assessors reviewed the quality management system of Green Product Mark against 15 sets of criteria, according to ISO 14024 and ISO/IEC 17065, and were impressed by the sound system and world-class expertise with which TÜV Rheinland has been equipped. GENICES certification, as an important milestone, establishes solid ground for Green Product Mark to build up its MRA (Mutual Recognition Agreement) partnership network globally.

Green Product Mark is a type I eco-labelling scheme launched by TÜV Rheinland in 2012, aiming to communicate verifiable and accurate information about environmental aspects of products and encourage the demand for and supply of products that cause less stress on the environment. The clients certified by our Green Product Mark include multinational brands like Deutsche Telekom, Lenovo, Nestle, Huawei, Kenwood, LG.
