GRAPHISOFT SE to represent Hungary as a National Champion in the prestigious 2013/14 European Business Awards program

Budapest, 24-7-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Business Awards has announced that GRAPHISOFT will represent Hungary as a National Champion in the prestigious 2013/14 Awards program. GRAPHISOFT beat off stiff competition to be selected as one of seven National Champions and will now compete for Ruban d’Honneur status in the next round of the competition. Final category Award winners will be unveiled in April 2014.

The European Business Awards has identified some of Europe’s brightest businesses based on their ability to demonstrate the three core principles at the heart of the awards program. The esteemed panel of judges was looking for organizations to represent Hungary who exhibited the highest levels of innovation, business excellence and sustainability.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be selected to represent Hungary”, said Viktor Varkonyi, CEO of GRAPHISOFT. “We’ve been operating for over 25 years in the architectural software sector, and it’s an honor to be recognized as one of the leading organizations in our country and in our field. The European Business Awards is widely recognized as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies. We’re looking forward to the next round of the competition”, he added.

The European Business Awards is dedicated to raising the visibility and progress of companies who excel in delivering innovation twinned with successful commercial results whilst acting responsibly and positively affecting the social environment they operate in. Last year’s competition saw entries from organizations with a combined turnover greater of over €1 trillion Euros across the 28 EU countries plus emerging nations (8.23% of EU GDP including Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Kazakhstan). Together these businesses employ over 2.7 million people across the continent.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards says, “Over the past seven years we’ve received an incredibly high standard of entries from organizations that are passionate about their business. However, very few get the chance to fly the flag for their country and compete across Europe to be recognized as one of Europe’s finest. It really is an exceptional accolade to be picked as a National Champion and together with our sponsors and supporters we’re looking forward to Hungary in the next round.”

Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM adds, “GRAPHISOFT and the six other National Champions have yet again raised the bar for dynamic, inspiring and quality businesses across Europe. We wish them every success for the next stage of the competition, which this year includes an exciting two-phase video voting round.”

To advance in the competition this year, all National Champions must submit a video entry for viewing and assessment by a judging panel. In addition, the public will also be able to vote online for their favorite National Champion from each country, these companies become ‘National Public Champions’ and one will go on to be ‘European Public Champion’. Voting begins in November 2013.
