(PRESS RELEASE) BIRMINGHAM, 22-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — GKN Aerospace has announced a $16 million expansion of its North Charlestown, New Hampshire facility, strengthening the company’s advanced aerospace manufacturing capabilities in the United States.

The project will add around 57,000 square feet to the existing site, tripling its current footprint and creating additional capacity for the production of complex aero-engine components.

As part of the expansion, GKN Aerospace will introduce a dedicated production cell for high-performance compressor blades and vanes, supporting growing customer demand across civil and defence engine platforms.

The investment is designed to support current production requirements while positioning the company for future engine platform opportunities.

GKN Aerospace said the project also includes the strategic insourcing of key manufacturing processes, helping improve production agility and strengthen control over critical areas of the supply chain.

The expanded North Charlestown facility will work closely with GKN Aerospace’s site in Muncie, Indiana, where advanced forging capabilities complement North Charlestown’s precision machining expertise.

Together, the two sites will provide customers with an integrated manufacturing solution for critical engine components.

The investment is expected to create new skilled jobs in the region and further reinforce GKN Aerospace’s U.S. manufacturing footprint.
